Middle Ring - Major Landmarks
Armory
Constructed in 1928, the Armory of South Bend originally served as a munitions depot. Today, it has been renovated into a beautiful event space that features a unique blend of modern and rustic elements. It is located along the St. Joseph River and can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Farmer’s Market
The South Bend Farmers Market has been around since 1911, and used to be a place where farmers, gardeners and more would come by to the Colfax Bridge and sell their produce and merchandise, until in 1923, when the market became too big for Colfax. It was moved to South Fellows Street near the New York Central Railroad crossing, and moved again in 1928 to its present location on Northside Boulevard.

YMCA
The YMCA on Northside Blvd is an important staple of the River Park neighborhood. It offers exciting learning and fitness opportunities for adults and youth in the community.

Kid’s Kingdom
Located in Potawatomi park, Kids’ Kingdom is a playground that was built by the local community, which is universally accessible to everyone.

Conservatory
The Potawatomi Conservatory is a greenhouse dedicated to preserving and showcasing different ecosystems. The Conservatory was designed in the 1960’s by Lord & Burnham, a boiler and greenhouse manufacturer. The Potawatomi Conservatory serves as a basis for botanical education and they provide classes every year for everyone alike.

River Park Library
The River Park Library is one of the branches of the St. Joe County Public Library located in the River Park neighborhood, and where the River Park Neighborhood Association holds their monthly meetings. The River Park branch is open from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Mondays to Thursdays, and 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Fire House Number 9
Firehouse #9 is a south bend fire station located in the River Park neighborhood. The firehouse is located at 2108 Mishawaka Ave., and the station improved first responder time by over 9 seconds. The firehouse was also the first time River Park had an ambulance service in the neighborhood.
